Kick-off Meeting

‘One Love One Drum: Drumming for Inclusion’, the KA2 project financed by EU Erasmus+ program under ‘’Partnerships for Creativity’’, had its first meeting in Braga, Portugal between the 28th and 31st of October.

This was the first physical meeting of the project, the Transnational Meeting No.1 or, as we call it, the official Kick-Off Meeting of the project. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, partner organizations have been developing this project in ‘’on-line mode’’ but finally the time had come for us to meet physically in Portugal.

The main purpose of the meeting was to finalise and sign the partner agreements of the project. To structure the future initiatives and define its goals, give projections of timelines and further discuss the results we are hoping to achieve.

The weekend was long, fruitful and formed a solid foundation on which the success of this project can be based.

The consortium was represented by its legal representatives and Presidents – Emmanuelle Pereira (Batalá Paris – Association Batucada), Stavros Kontaratos (Batalá Atenas Non Profit Organization) and Henrique Antunes (Batalá Braga – Costumes Convergentes Associação) – who were accompanied by Karine Broyer, Christiana Gaitadini and Dália Carvalho.

The next meeting will be in February in Paris and until then the local bands will start their individual actions, put to test the first educational videos being developed (demos) and begin to form the future collaborations for the platform of the Batalá Mundo network.

Stay tuned!
